about Sorelle

Over coffee one rainy afternoon, three painters based in Chicago, Alice, Kimberly, and Sung Eun, who is a teacher to both artists, laughed about their struggles—balancing family life and their art practice, creative blocks, and the sheer madness of trying to be seen.

“What if we just... made something together?” Hong suggested.

They started meeting every week, sharing techniques, stories, and dreams. Their styles collided and fused, creating pieces more vibrant than anything they could make alone. And so, they called themselves Sorelle—Italian for sisters—not by blood but by art.
